These Year 3 agriculture students are describing the life
cycle of a plant to their peers. It is a great public speaking training using a
subject connected to their future career.
Their position, back to the audience, needs to improve but I
let it go today as they were really willing to participate. I didn’t want to hinder their enthusiasm.
When the activity is well scaffolded and when the atmosphere
is fear-free, these students, usually so scared of opening their mouths and
making mistakes, do a fairly good job.
