Cela laisse présage un besoin de qualité importante de ces cours en ligne et pour nous un bon moyen d’augmenter la qualité de notre pédagogie. 

ONLINE LEARNING AT CIA FIRST

Q: How does online learning work?

A: Online learning is education that takes place using the internet. Over the years, many of you have been accustomed to submitting work online through the use of Google Classroom. Today, Monday, March 16th, we will transition to fully online learning, and you are expected to work independently on your learning with your teachers’ guidance in every subject you are studying.

CIA’s online learning programs do not differ from regular learning at school in almost all respects. PTs, EQs, HoMs and learning activities remain the same, with slight adjustments if certain materials cannot be accessed at home. All of your summative assessments can be submitted via Google Classroom and deadlines will remain largely unaltered.

It is of the utmost importance that you keep in regular contact with your teacher and fellow classmates through Google Classroom, Gmail, Google Hangout & Google Meet.

Q: Are teachers checking attendance?

A: Yes! All your teachers will check the attendance for each class. This will help them identify who is doing the task or not. However, we understand that each student will have a different situation to face at home, so please try your best to communicate with your teacher(s) if a certain situation should arise. By doing so, your teacher will be able to give further assistance if needed.

Q: How can my teachers teach me?

A: Your teachers will upload all their lessons on Google Classroom. This is going to be interesting because your teachers will be as creative as they can be to ensure that you are engaged with your materials. As you go along with your lessons, your teachers will give you timely feedback to help you in the areas that need improvement. It is very important that as you work on your activities, keep your communication constant with your teacher to ensure you are receiving the assistance you need.

Q: Do I have to do all the lessons and activities that my teachers post on Google Classroom?

A: There are two types of assessments that your teachers use: formative (ungraded) and summative (graded which includes PT, EQs, HoM journal, and skills and knowledge quiz), and both are used to help them identify the right support you need. Although formative activities are not graded, it is very important that you engage and work on the activities to give your teacher an overview of what you are currently learning and understanding.

In addition, it is also very important that you pay attention to the details that your teacher provides. This may include the review of your syllabus (HS students), PT timeline, and other requirements.

Q: I need support, who can I talk to?
A: Our Student Support Supervisors are on standby and they will reach out to you whenever needed.
