The ABC...

Basing the reading and writing learning on the ABC is just unproductive and even counterproductive.

What should we do?

First, what we call writing is, in reality, learning how to draw the letters. Let’s make that a specific activity, an artistic activity. Let’s make the drawing of the letter an art class. During this art-class, we can also teach the name of these letters in their alphabetical order known as alphabet or ABC.

Second: Organize a reading course based on phonics. The goal will be to identify the sounds and being able the transfer them into writing + being able to say the sounds we read on paper.
