Practicing English with Foreigners

One of the goals of the study tour we took today was to practice English with foreigners. 

Before hand, we had practiced a conversation, a kind of interview. It is important to scaffold the activity in order to give students the maximum of chance to succeed.

A few students actually managed to do quite a good job but:

-          Not all students were involved, only the best in English.

-          Not all students were involved, only the boldest. 

In fact, asking some unknown foreigners to answer questions is not easy at all. I therefore do not blame the students who didn’t manage to do it. 

We must help our learners to feel more confident. To achieve that goal, we must develop a great English program. We are working on it!
